Mallorca-Betis..and I still hate Barca
By: Jeremy | March 6th, 2009Ultimately I can bitch all I want that the Copa semi didnt go our way, but the bottom line is that we still lost. Nothing else really matters but maybe Barca fan can admit they were really afraid of losing their place in the final. Despite the result, it was good to see the arrogant team from Barcelona, thinking they were just going to come to Palma and destroy us, actually have to struggle and sweat to make the final.
For all the heart we showed, it is our fault for losing this game. Barca didnt do anything. We go up 1-0 on a great strike from Castro and then Barca is put down a man and in the following pk, Marti blows it. Ultimately what wins these games are just one or two decisive events and the good teams take advantage of their positive situations while the bad ones on the whole do not. Marti missed ours and you almost knew that was the end when he did. The idiot simply needed to make that kick. Despite still being a man up, we still couldnt get the equalizer and then Josemis red card brought things even and killed the game from there. Messis goal was an afterthought as we were spent emotionally and physically in a 1-1 draw.
This whole game was just another reason I hate Barca. The arrogance that a match is a gimme despite playing so poorly recently is just something I hate to see from a big team. It would have been some kind of justice if we could have won that game but props to the players for making a real effort when the league is still a problem when it comes to surivival. It was a great run, but we must now get back to business and that is a home game against Betis, a direct relegation rival who like many of our recent opponents, is just finishing their run against the big four.
While the players may be frustrated and tired from the midweek game, they have to feel confident in their recent play that has really brought them from a serious relegation problem to some level of comfort that they can emerge from this up and down year both on and off the field with a place in LaLiga for next year. A home game against a direct rival is a must win, even if the midweek game may cause a bit of a let down.
Betis is a team I know very little about. I know they used to have Joaquin and I thought he should have stayed with them as some players you just identify with certain clubs. They are coming off their run of tough games with better results then most. Despite getting thumped by Madrid, they beat Sevilla on the road, and had draws with Barca and Villarreal. A nice run of results and they have to feel that Mallorca is an easier game against a tired opponent for a must needed three points. That is what some other clubs thought as they came off the games with the big four. Sitting on 27 points, the same as us, and finished with the big games, they have to feel they can reach safety despite their run of poor form.
I am assuming Aduriz will get the start and play the full 90 this weekend after getting limited minutes on Wednesday. He is going to have to bring some offense as Navarro will be missing from the backline and a tired group of players will be prone to letdowns more so then normal. We have won three games in a row in the league 1-0 and we want to keep that streak going to further solidify our place in the league for next year. This is a game we have to get being at home. However, with all the issues that exist for both clubs, and considering Betis being on a decent run of form themselves, a tie would not be a bad result for either club.
Prediction
Mallorca 1-1 Betis

Hehe, Barca’s arrogance cant be misplaced if only because it serves to induce such pitiable rants from the fans of desultory overly aspiring clubs like Mallorca. As a Barca fan I am sure that if you managed to get a little more publicity to your posts the club will probably hear and take pity on Mallorca, send them a bouquet before their next game and maybe a cheque to help them out once they go under.
Lol, its really funny that you could hate Barcelona and publish a post like that.

Well, I cant say I hate Mallorca, we -Barcelona Fc- have a good relation with that club actually, the club you don’t represent.
We (the arrogants) got exactly what we needed from that game, we knew sooner or later we will score a goal (we scored in each and every game we played this season. Mallorca scoring twice wouldn’t have made a difference, Mallorca -a team we respect and respect most of its fans- will not be able to score 4 goals. So it fit us to play the way we burn less energy, rest key members and achieve the objective we planned for this game (something football fans understand).
We played the way it suits us, not the way it suits you -representing yourself.Or may be we should have played exactly the way you like and offered you the result you wished! Pathetic…
Hate us or like us…would that really make a deference? Oh yea…it makes…Objectivity and respect is a need for a successful writer. Though I think you found no other way to attract responds. Glad to fulfill your dream, for the last time.
Sour loser. But hard luck for Mallorca, a very respectful club.

I guess Barca fan is a little arrogant. Getting defensive are we? Is Barca fan so insecure that another team cant dislike them without getting such a hated response? Opinions of fans of clubs have nothing to do with the relationships between those that run the teams so even if they do have a good relationship between management and players, you can bet passionate Mallorca fans often have a distaste for teams like Barca. Its the big team versus small team mentality.
I guess a writer only has to be objective to be good because he speaks bad of Barca? Is the Barca offside writer totally objective? I doubt it but I think he is a good writer too. Do you criticize his lack of objectivity on occasion.
I also didnt take this post as whining because of a loss and no one asked Barca to give the game to Mallorca so your rant from Germany seems even more misplaced.
Im guessing the author does not write for a Mallorca blog to gain readers by insulting other teams. Maybe he just hates Barca. I think any fan of a small club will often hate a big team or two. I dont read the posts regularly but I dont think this is hate filled blog, especially since posts are few and far between. Sometimes the small clubs dont have much to say and when they get a big game against a big team, they get a little passionate. I can respect that.
If you are a fan of Barca and cant take the hate occasionally from a small club who matters nothing to you because its all about being a big team, then you dont understand what being a fan of a big team is about.
I agree that Barca overlooked the match with arrogance and if Martis pk was converted, it was 2-2 aggregate with advantage Mallorca from there. That was the last thing Barca expected.
But then again I am a fan of Real Madrid and I hate Barca myself.

@Giorgio, Simply, you don’t know what you are talking about, or whats happening here, so I forgive your ignorance.
Its a hitting and hitting back game on this page since the first time the two teams met this season. Its a fair game so figure out the rules then jump in.
Pst, everyone can feel anyway toward any team, the tone makes the difference. And by the way I will not get into this “Coulda woulda shoulda” argument. Facts say barcelona scored in every game they played, and logic say Mallorca “woulda” have never scored 4 goals. period.
If we will take your logic as a fact regarding small teams fans cant wait to meet big team as an event, i think they can do better than throwing trash talk toward big teams, they can raise up to the event for example? Beside, I knew lot of other “so called small teams”fans though i don’t take this ranking seriously, they were more open to the challenge than addressing other teams badly and use their hatred as titles to posts. They focused on their passions toward their own teams, they had enough passions toward their teams that they had no other space for other emotional rifts toward opponents. I even made previews for games between barcelona and other teams. So its not you who can instruct me, with all respect.
barcelona Overlooked the game so they played three key midfielders with defensive quality. really?
If you really don’t understand barcelona approach for the game then, no need for more argument.

I don’t see why we need to get upset Ramzi. If Jeremy had accused Barca of such arrogance and we had lost the tie then there would perhaps be a need to defend Barca. But despite Barca’s arrogance, assuming that the team just has to show up and Mallorca will crumble to the ground (even if that is not the way we know Barca approaches games) Mallorca were just too miserable to ever pose a threat, to expose this so-called arrogance. If I were a Mallorca supporter I wouldn’t think this an opportune moment to bring it up.

I think the reason is obvious, A Real Madrid fan is claiming to be a Mallorca fan. Abusing mallorca page to attack Barcelona.
