Mallorca-Recreativo
By: Jeremy | December 5th, 2008Things are very negative in the Mallorca camp right now. We are slowly sliding down the standings and are barely out of the relegation zone with games against Sevilla, Villarreal, Barca, and Real Madrid still to come before we start the second half. If we are not in the relegation zone at the end of the first half, it will truly be a miracle.
Before we hit these tough run of games, we face a must, and I mean must win against Recreativo, the bottom club in La Liga. As bad as we are, they have six less points then us and look in to be a bigger mess. With this game being at home, anything less then a win is not acceptable. We cant allow a team that should be relegated to beat us before we play against the big clubs. We thrashed them 7-1 last year when we actually had a cohesive group so there is no reason, despite our troubles, to lose this game.
If fans are disappointed this year it is much about the lack of team unity as it is the lack of points. So many new players were brought in, and while talented, they each seem to be playing with different motives. There is no cohesive play on the field. The result has been bad starts and last minute lapses which have cost us many points. Teams that are together do not have this happen so often. If your team is not together, it is hard to be a fan and to develop new favorite players. I understand changes happen, but replacement players can be appreciated quickly when they adapt to the team concept and play for the love of the shirt. We do not have that this year and the fans are therefore losing interest.
Yes its still not even halfway through the season, but if fans cant see what is happening, by the time we wake up, we will be in the bottom three with no reason to think safety is possible. If the team continues to play this way, my posts wil start to be more about analyzing the relegation teams and what we can do to finish 17th. How boring but likely necessary.
I think the team gets a win this week only because they are at home against a bad Recreativo team, but it is no means an indication of things to come. With Moya out for awhile and no indication of any incoming transfers, we are in for a long year. Lets just postpone the problems and focus on the must win match against Recreativo.
Prediction
Mallorca 2-1 Recreativo

Fans are dissapointed, but much more because of the scandals that Vicente Grande is involved in every day.
The biggest problem in RCD Mallorca right now is got nothing to do with the players or the manager (even though, we are having a crap season and players are affected by all the board shit).
We need to get Grande OUT NOW!!! GET OUT OF THE CLUB YOU THIEF!!!Posted from
