Yes I am Pissed

Where does it end with our team? Its one thing to let almost all the star players go(yeah I know they didnt have much choice) and revamp the team with some new, but talented players, but once the season begins, they tease us with inconsistent play, and the fans are driven mad.

This storyline continues each week. Instead of writing a blog, I should write a couple of posts and after each game just change the name of the opponent. Did we give up goals early which took our desire out of the game which lead to a loss or did we stop playing just before the end after dominating a team and showing the fans that this new talent might be coming into form but still getting just a point because we gave up a last minute goal. Take your pick. This weekends lucky recipient of our play was Bilbao.

If you like exciting football, this was the game to watch. No garbage goals. Great individual play from both sides and a finish that left both teams with a point but Mallorca walking off the field disappointed. As with most games at home, Mallorca got off to a good start with a goal by Santana in minute 11 on a great header after Jurados awesome cross. Two of our new players. Ah the teasing talent we have. Then in minute 43, Ramis handles the ball in the area after good overall play by by Bilbao. Nice penalty kick by Iraola to beat Lux, who was starting in goal for us for the first time this year.

1-1 halftime with that being the deserved status.

Second half starts and Arango shows us what has been missing from this team this year by finishing a pass from Aduriz in minute 60. Great effort by both players to get that goal. Then again in minute 75, a second Arango goal. We are up 3-1 at home against a bottom level team with 15 minutes left. Game over. Three points. Back in the race for that last UEFA Cup spot. Whatever. This is Mallorca we are talking about. Velez pulls a goal back to make it 3-2. No worries, the home crowd will inspire us to finish it out. Then with almost no time left, Bilbao finds the final goal through Llorente. Game over 3-3. If I was there, I would have been booing. Would you rather get three points and play a dull game or give up two points and play an exciting game. Un fricken believable. What can you say. This is our theme for the year.

I cant wait for the year end highlight film title. “Unfinished Business”, “Futbol is a 90 minute game, except in Mallorca”..you get the idea.

So where does that leave us? Manzano again is scratching his head. What needs to be done to get a full game from the players. The first 10 minutes and the last 10 minutes are just as important as the rest of the game. Is it bad coaching and preparation? Who knows. The bottom line is we sit at 12 points, essentially in the middle of a pack of teams in the middle of the table. Remember we still havent played the big four so giving up these points in all these matches may make relegation seem more realistic then that final UEFA Cup spot.

We can analyze and discuss all day but we need some results. We now have a Wednesday game against Malaga at home in the return leg of the Copa 4th round after drawing on the road and getting that away goal. We need to win this game just to get some confidence that we can finish.

Unfortunately we will continue where we are and what seems like a season that started out with so much uncertainty which turned into potential is now looking like another year with nothing to show for it. Lets hope we arent really a relegation candidate and the Plumber spends some of his Pounds in the winter transfer market to get us what we need to move up the ladder. Part of me is hoping we will now see the real Arango play weekly and the goals will continue and some wins will be in the cards. Get Moya back asap.

I know we have a great club to watch, but sometimes I wish I was not a fan because this is becoming too much to take.

I know ur feeling, but this is part of being Mallorca fan. Barca and big teams Fans will never understood it..thier fans are booing when they finish 3 last season!!!!
as we have an amzaing years since back to primera in 97(I miss the 97-2003 area)there is some bad years(i think this season squad is pretty good). to lose games in last min this is part of being a Mallorca fan as u know.
i will never switch the feeling of Barca fans who take an away win vs Malaga like another day in the office(even if it’s true).
to be a Mallorca fan is so special, because this team is super unexpected(in all history), and we are a club with a very bad luck(Recopa final, Final copa 98 vs Barca..)and this bad luck can take a lot of healthy from us like in the last game but i love this club too much.
in th buttom line, to be a fun is very diffcult i agree but when the good times comes(like the copa or playing CL)there is nothing like it to be a fun, no? i hope u agree, i just thanks god that im fun to a club like Mallorca.
